Controversial opinion: calling TTH a BL sounds almost too generic because I would classify it as a coming-of-age real life inspired love story that brings a very untrodden fact to the surface. Gay love story in the 90’s? Oh God no. Gay love story of a seminarian in the 90’s? No one would ever think of it. It goes beyond controversial. This masterpiece deserves the best of recognition. The delicate handling by the crew and cast and the way each and every fact was backed with a deep background story; it’s obvious that deep thoughts have been used in creation of this. I cannot enunciate how much these six episodes made me reflect, even as someone who’s not queer, but an ally. Imagine the amount of people who used to be Tanraks, who wanted Barths, but decided to go against their hearts because of how society looked at them. Their hearts battled with their faith, but this series showed that you can embrace faith with love. That’s what I really really love about this series. P’aof told a beautiful love story in six episodes and I hope everyone is lucky enough to watch it, live it, love it and have it settle in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
