Never thought I’d break par again. 68 @BallybunionGN golf club today. Last few years have been tough on the health front. Big thanks to all the folks that have worked so hard to fix me up. Especially @MDAndersonNews and Dr. Kopetz. What a memorable day. This ball is going up on the wall. BTW….used the same one all day. #blessed

I ran into @FryStrakaGolf Dana Fry on a flight to Houston last night. Great to talk to him about the new Miakka Golf Club, Stadium Zoysia , and especially his step-son Noah Kent who was a US Am Finalist last year, just transferred to Florida, will tee it in the Masters, and is playing Houston on PGA TOUR this week. Dana said @McIlroyRory has been incredibly kind and generous with Noah. They have a practice round today. Based on the bits of time I spent with Rory, it doesn’t surprise me one bit that he’s taking time and interest in a talented young player. Dana is a class act and I can’t wait to see Miakka and the work he has done with input from @PaulAzinger We are blessed with so many great people in this game.

@Paul_Larsen_10 @NickDougherty5 Agree. But it's not just the bunker but the style of bunker. The new jagged edge bunkers of the last few years give the impression of design talent over a simpler flat bottom / grass face bunker. Now days the bunker often defines the architect more than green complex or routing

So got me thinking why bother with bunkers cost a fortune to keep maintaining them.Labour intensive with the need for raking constantly! we get radar on sky saying pros are thinking of holing out every time @NickDougherty5 & they to easy #small clubs should fill them in

Observation: Too many country clubs settle for average in their decision making. There’s a paradox to this given the number of members that are highly successful in their careers by not settling for average.

I’m just leaving @MDAndersonNews in Houston. At my 1 year anniversary of being diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer I’m CANCER FREE! Dr. Kopetz and his team here are incredible. Thanks to everybody for your prayers. They work!

I’m sitting on the porch southern tip of Kauai in Poipu looking at from top to bottom Jupiter, Neptune, Venus, and Saturn. My whole family is with me and we’re celebrating me beating cancer. It’s the “ No Mo Chemo Tour”. Amazing week. I’m blessed to be here. #thankful

San Diego CC is hiring @bschneider126 to create a master plan. Originally designed by William Watson and later worked on by Billy Bell, SDCC occupies a great golf property. As it moves on from some of its later renovation work, this course could become the best south of LA.
