Reform UK told the BBC that he paid in cash for his £1.4m house in Surrey with his “I’m a Celebrity” fee from ITV and not with the £5m gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne - which Farage says was to provide him with security (physical, not financial). But the ITV “Celeb” fee was £1.5m, which would be £825,000 after tax, for a top-rate taxpayer like Farage. That’s £575,000 less than the price of the house.
And even if the fee was paid into his “Thorn in the side” media company rather than directly to him, it would still be taxable, one way or another

@_sports_trends @Euro_toff @ZiaYusufUK That’s the problem. The moment you hear ‘immigrants,’ you stop thinking. No curiosity, no research. Makes me wonder if I’m talking to a person or a bot
English

@myjsglobal @Euro_toff @ZiaYusufUK I don't need a machine to think for me. There aren't any Bilateral agreements that are affected. Simply put those who are undesired will be removed back to where they belong.
English

Wrong.
The Home Office already has data on method of entry. If they came illegally they lose their status and are deported.
Simple as.

This is just a recipe for chaos. Reviewing thousands of individual cases would take years. And wouldn’t solve anything. It’s been difficult enough tackling the vast backlog we inherited from the Tories without quadrupling the administrative chaos
English

@_sports_trends @Euro_toff @ZiaYusufUK I would suggest you go ask chatGPT that question and then get back to me. It's ridiculous to think there will not be any effects on bilateral agreements, etc. that's a very naive way of thinking. We're not North Korea
English

@myjsglobal @Euro_toff @ZiaYusufUK Outside of wailing and gnashing teeth of political opponents nothing at all.
English

@_sports_trends @Euro_toff @ZiaYusufUK That's great! Thank you... What would be the repercussions if the UK was to leave that treaty and the ECHR?
English

@_sports_trends @Euro_toff @ZiaYusufUK Give me an example of one of those treaties we have with other countries since you know so much about them 🤦🏿♂️
English

@Euro_toff @ZiaYusufUK That's why it's important to withdraw from those treaties

@andyp_dx @KemiBadenoch Even if we drill, the revenue won’t come now. It can take months to strike gas and years to reach full production and tax receipts. This crisis is happening now. It won’t help people today so I don't know why they are using so much political capital on this.
English

@KemiBadenoch I watched the interview with LK. My takeaway is that the plan is to use the additional tax revenue from more oil and gas drilling to subsidise (reduce) people’s energy bills?
English

Drilling the North Sea would boost our national security, our energy security and our financial security.
That’s why we have to Get Britain Drilling.
Before Labour introduces another bailout for Benefits Street, they should cut energy bills for all.

@30RoE @Nigel_Farage There are lots of people who don't want to apply for British citizenship, but all that rhetoric about deporting or restricting people who are not British by the right-wing is having the opposite effect and forcing people to apply for citizenship so Reform caused this. Ironic!
English

@Nigel_Farage What about those of us who work, pay taxes and contribute but to not want British citizenship - not because we don’t love Britain but because we retain ties to home? Do we have to re-apply?
English

The number of people who have applied for British citizenship has risen to 291,971, up from 253,757 in 2024.
Only Reform can and will abolish Indefinite Leave to Remain and avert the looming Boriswave fiscal disaster.

Too many, we should be sending many of these people back the second they arrive here, what happens to them then is not our problem. Why should the UK be used as a sanctuary for people all over the world. The majority of them are probably just looking for an easier ride than they have in their country of origin.

English

@SuellaBraverman It has to be reversed, Suella. The British state cannot expect us to treat citizenship as sacred when it gives it out so freely. It is now an administrative procedure done without mandate that must be reversed.

@SuellaBraverman Bringing in as many as possible to ensure more votes. That's why Green parry now announcing their policy on the church and religion. It's all about the votes and power. They don't care two hoots about citizens.

@RebelliousBard @SuellaBraverman There are lots of people who don't want to apply for British citizenship, but all that rhetoric about deporting or restricting people who are not British is having the opposite effect is forcing people to apply for citizenship
English

@SuellaBraverman Why would they apply ?
Under Farage, they only have to feel British to be considered British.

English

@dortmund719 @SuellaBraverman This is a big lie because British citizenship doesn't cost £700 and you will have to pass an English test. This is a fake account misrepresenting itself or a bot
English

@SuellaBraverman It is all CORRUPT. My Wife paid £700 for BRITISH CITIZENSHIP and she still cannot read or write English. We have too many people working in high places in Government who are CORRUPT. All those working in the Home Office need their BANK ACCOUNTS examining.

@SuellaBraverman The Draw back is your boss has already stated he's not going to do anything about it, it's a political impossibility I think he said.
Your poll figures show people are massively losing faith in REFORM
English

@therealAntonyJQ @SuellaBraverman This has nothing to do with labour. People are applying on mass because her party threatened anyone who didn't have a British passport. I know people who have applied but never really wanted to because they are afraid of what Reform would do if they come into government
English

@SuellaBraverman Because they know that Labour are a soft touch.
