I voted to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot to help limit rapid property tax increases and give taxpayers more control over local spending. Yesterday, I filed Lower Taxes for All NC, a constitutional amendment to cut North Carolina’s income tax cap in HALF, from 7% to 3.5%. It’s a permanent guardrail written into our state constitution that protects every North Carolinian from future tax hikes. If passed by the legislature, Lower Taxes for All NC will be on your ballot in November 2026.

Last week, NC Senate Republicans advanced H301, S889, S840, H727, and H390 through committee — bills to protect kids online, guide responsible AI use in schools, support teachers, give property taxpayers breathing room, and strengthen Medicaid accountability. Here’s the recap.
