It is a sobering reminder that when a person is struggling, angry, or has a bruised ego, things can escalate quickly. While nothing justifies violence, this situation shows how critical it is to recognise when to step back. Sometimes, it is safer to refuse help or remain silent than to risk an escalation with someone who is clearly at their breaking point. The world is heavy right now, and many people are fighting silent battles. We need to be more mindful of our words and learn to contain our reactions. Everyone involved in this scene was a Zimbabwean trying to make a living through informal trading.
