@AlexBathurst @Protanorak @HannahAlOthman Doesn’t really seem like there is much of a debate left to be had on the Corbyn era. He was reviled & rejected by the majority of the public. I assume you will say the media smeared him, others would say fairly scrutinized. A better candidate would have coped with it.

@Protanorak @n_stevenson @HannahAlOthman It's a classic "debate" move. If you give detail of few examples, they'll dismiss you as that set couldn't amount to the total problem, if you keep listing examples without the detail, they dismiss them as insufficiently supported.

Factoid of the day Reported COVID-19 deaths globally are lower now than they have ever been in the last 365 days. The number is still far too high and periodically going up and down, but with damped peaks, and the overall trend over the last year goes in the right direction.

@rogerroger911 @George_Osborne @michaelgove The people moaning about this invariably live in London, therefore they have a perfectly good train service to anywhere in the country and would never need a domestic flight. Fixing trains is much more expensive & will take decades.

Strong budget rooted in sound money. Public spending rises funded by tax increases not deficit. Our national living wage increased & UC taper cut to support work. Investment in Northern powerhouse + cultural sector by doubling tax reliefs. Beer duty cut too. Good job Chancellor.

When 15% of people take 70% of flights it’s madness not to go for a frequent flyer levy. Also to *reduce* air passenger for domestic flights which we should be phasing out (almost) entirely. We’re a small country, we have trains. We should use them. theguardian.com/politics/2021/…

@PainLesley @IndependentSage you can easily find out what checks are in place at the border if you're that worried. The system is designed to put people off travelling unless they need to.

@IndependentSage I am worried about the risk of new variants . I don’t think there will be the scrutiny at our borders there should be when people arrive and also how will checks be done that travellers have a pcr test 2 days after arrival. Interested to hear your views.
