Possibly unpopular take: Filipinos who make grammar policing their personality are annoying. Our English has its own logic — what’s “wrong” here might be right elsewhere. Eg: Brits use “revise” to mean study; we use it to mean edit.

I’ve never had curry or a kabab and don’t intend to. British food is the best. English breakfasts, Sunday roasts, fish and chips, pies, pasties, scones. Also, our national dish isn’t a chicken tikka masala - we only think that because a Labour MP said it decades ago to push multiculturalism.

As a follow-up: the best way to reduce VAT is by not actually reducing VAT. The best way to reduce VAT is to balance it with progressive fiscal policy, such as cash transfers This way, you maintain VAT on the wealthy while counteracting the regressive effect on the poor

It’s insane that filed financial statements are not easily accessible in Ph, on hindsight. Name me an Irish company and I can easily access their financial statements for as long as it is filed.

Thanks to our friend Ken Abante for flagging at a Senate hearing a struggle we journalists face: SEC docs aren’t free. We spent P30K on Zaldy Co files last year via SEC Express. ESearch is cheaper at P375/doc, but costs still pile up. If we want transparency, why the paywall?
