Today is Fragile X Awareness Day 🧬 Fragile X syndrome, caused by caused by a triplet repeat expansion in the FMR1 gene, is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability and a leading known single-gene cause of autism. Increasing awareness helps advance understanding, support affected individuals and families, and drive continued research toward improved diagnosis and care. Join us in recognizing Fragile X Awareness Day by sharing this post and helping raise awareness. Every conversation brings us one step closer to greater understanding and progress. #FragileXAwareness #Genomics #GenomicResearch

Meet another one of our #OurNabsterHeroes, Jennet - using her voice to make a difference beyond the workplace. Outside of her work at Nabsys, she volunteers with Love Life Now Foundation (LLN), a nonprofit dedicated to domestic violence awareness, prevention, and survivor support. Through her volunteer work, she creates social media content that raises awareness, highlights survivor resources, and shares the impact of initiatives like the Get Safe Fund, Pajama Drive, and White Ribbon Night Gala. For Jennet, the connection between her volunteer work and her role at Nabsys comes down to a shared purpose: "Although the work looks different on the surface, both roles come down to helping people. At Nabsys, I use precision, collaboration, and problem-solving to support technology that can ultimately improve health outcomes. At LLN, those same qualities help raise awareness and support survivors of domestic violence. Different fields, but the same motivation - using my skills to make a real difference in people's lives." We're proud to have her on the team where she makes an impact both in and outside the workplace! #NabsterHero

Is your genomic integrity workflow ready for the future of cell and gene therapy? As CGT development advances, so do the expectations for comprehensive genomic characterization. Traditional methods each have strengths, but they can leave critical gaps in detecting structural variants. In our latest blog, we explore how evolving regulatory guidance and technologies like electronic genome mapping (EGM) are helping researchers build greater confidence in genomic integrity throughout the development process. 👉 Read the full blog: hubs.ly/Q04n9QzT0 #CellTherapy #GeneTherapy #PrecisionMedicine #LifeSciences

We're proud to announce a collaboration with the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), a global leader in FSHD research and diagnostics, to evaluate an electronic genome mapping (EGM) based assay on the OhmX™ Platform for genomic analysis of facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). “We are excited to be working with Nabsys to investigate the use of EGM to advance FSHD research,” said Prof. dr. ir. Silvère van der Maarel, Professor of Medical Genetics and Department Chair, Human Genetics at the Leiden University Medical Center. We also presented new data demonstrating how the OhmX Platform, combined with CRISPR/Cas9 optimization, can improve detection and sizing of challenging repeat expansions, including those associated with Fragile X syndrome and Friedreich's ataxia. Together, these advancements highlight the growing potential of EGM to address complex genomic regions that remain difficult to analyze with traditional methods. 👉 Read the full press release here: hubs.ly/Q04ljhqD0 #EGM #RareDisease #FSHD #FragileX #FriedreichsAtaxia

We were pleased to have Nabsys featured in Providence Business First in an article highlighting the recent installment of multiple OhmX™ Platforms in the lab of cytogeneticist Dr. Brynn Levy at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons! The installations are a part of our Rapid Application to Market Penetration User Partnership (RAMP UP) program in partnership with @Hitachi_HTA to support research using electronic genome mapping (EGM) in leading labs. Using the OhmX Platform, Dr. Levy aims to advance applications of EGM in hematological malignancies, starting with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Friedreich's Ataxia is caused by GAA repeat expansions in the FXN gene. These long repetitive sequences can be difficult to fully characterize with sequencing-based approaches, particularly when both alleles carry large expansions. While repeat-primed PCR (RP-PCR) is commonly used to identify FXN expansions, Nabsys' Electronic Genome Mapping (EGM) directly sizes both alleles from individual DNA molecules, providing quantitative repeat measurements and insight into repeat-length variability. With EGM, researchers can: • Directly measure FXN GAA repeat lengths • Characterize samples with two expanded alleles • Assess repeat-length variability at the molecule level • Detect structural variants and many other repeat expansions in the same assay Learn more by downloading our FXN technical note: 👉 hubs.ly/Q04jCGKJ0 #StructuralVariation #FriedreichsAtaxia #RareDisease #AtaxiaResearch #Cytogenomics
