Making thumbnails for Framer Academy is a whole design process on its own. We usually create them after the edit is done, but they're still a key part of how the video is designed and experienced. We stick to using a mix of filmed content, product UI, typography, and 3D graphics to create one informative and eye-catching thumbnail. The goal is that every thumbnail is clear enough to set the right expectation, compelling enough to make someone want to click, and never noisy or misleading that it pushes viewers away. A big part of that is building with high-res assets from the start so each thumbnail can work across course pages, cover images, social posts, and whatever format it will need to live in next. The challenge is making all of the thumbnails feel unmistakably @framer, while still giving each topic it's own visual identity.
