One of the reasons the future never feels like the future is because technology always seems to go from option to obligation. Once things become obligations, they cease being futuristic or sci fi and start becoming a grind. It is only when things stay options do we maintain wonder

I’ve seen this same comment pop up across multiple accounts, so I want to clarify what was actually said on my stream. This is just a snippet, a taken out of context bit
I was talking about a moment of pressure, not a threat and not any intent to hurt someone. I didn’t act, and I wouldn’t.
What actually happened on that stage was constant talking over, raised voices, and personal insults once the arguments ran out.
That contrast matters.
Debates are supposed to test ideas and move closer to the truth. In reality, if you’ve watched enough of them, the “winner” is often just the person who shouts more, interrupts more, and insults more, not the one grounded in reality.
Debates also expose stress responses.
Under extreme pressure, I froze.
Her reaction to the possibility of losing was rage, insults, and the familiar “my husband was nothing before me” routine.
Common behavior for rabid feminists.

My experience at Word War 1 included: -meeting Chrissie Mayr accidentally at a bar and not knowing who she was (brutal) -meeting Sam Tripoli, Gavin McInnes, and NotSoErudite (again) -Gavin offering me a bump of coke if I showed him my ass (hot) -watching Pearl get stunlocked in real time -accidentally putting my used Zyn in Chrissie’s coffee (embarassing) -getting invited on Simpcast (yesss) -going to the afterparty with Gavin after he told me and my dad that he was raped in the bathroom by 7 black guys (intimate) -riding in an elevator with Proud Boy Leader Enrique Tarrio (LOL) -getting pressed by Rob Noerr about Andrew Wilson drama (bizarre) -meeting Ana Kasparian briefly (MOMMY) -getting told I’m a feminist who should “get in the kitchen” by another Proud Boy with a braided goatee, who then proceeded to get pressed by my dad (utterly bizarre) W’s all around, fantastic event, looking forward to the next one.

It was 2016-2019 that the college campus youtube debate genre exploded. That's originally how Jordan Peterson made his fame and fortune. Charlie Kirk was also a part of that scene.
But kids graduate. The new crop of college students isn’t the same audience. They grew up post-COVID, on TikTok rather than YouTube, with different stressors, higher rates of diagnosed anxiety and depression, more online radicalization, and less patience for long-form debate formats
More mental illness. More anxiety. More radical.
It's a risky job to keep doing this.
