I left my startup after running it for 5 years. we had been working on a neural interface that lets people co-create with machines in tools like cursor/figma. it honestly felt like sci-fi. we raised money. the hardest problems became signal processing, building generalized models, shrinking hardware footprint, increasing BLE throughput - deep technical work. i love building & shipping things but the work had drifted away from what i was actually good at. after some hard convos with my co-founder, i decided to step away. it was painful, but i'm proud of what we built. i cancelled my manhattan lease. bought a one-way ticket to asia. 12 countries. 2 months. traveling was genuinely eye opening. it made me realize how much i missed human connection. hosting dinners. going on group runs. all the things i stopped doing. how i missed building things that are useful & beautiful. stockholm gave me the word for it: *nyttokonst* = useful art now i'm back in sf, excited to build again i've been a product generalist all my life: shaping ideas that work + feel good, prototyping fast, integrating across eng × design × strategy, killing linear bets, getting shit done. did it at my startup. did it at webflow. if you're a founder building a killer product w ai in hardware, health or creative tools, shoot me a dm! if you know anyone building something really cool, would love an intro!

order of operations w llms: ask claude - your work buddy who cranks out code like a madman and listens to your philosophical rants. you fund its token addiction but it's too late to back out │ ▼ ask gemini - friend who just got out of aa. the improvement is real, it kinda makes sense now ... still not invited to happy hour │ ▼ *literally use your brain* │ ▼ ask chat - your childhood pothead friend who keeps giving you unhinged life & dating advice ... but you like the toxicity

every story like this reminds me how success is downstream from first principle thinking - from a worldview that shapes decisions & actions learning that w the finance agent. it's a smart trading system that finds → evaluates → manages positions ... but lacks a thesis for how the world is changing. baking that in 🧁

next I wanted to run this against meta circa oct 2022 w their financials and see would it pass the filter or not? score on its own = not good enough. so passed it to sonnet-4.6 w same raw data (no date, company info). and it identified meta (from 2022) as strong candidate 👀 now having agent run this on active positions and watchlist it manages itself - curious if it works🤞

· revenue acceleration - not just revenue, but growth of change (future trajectory). declining -> flat -> re-accl = key structural pivot ·margin acceleration - are ops margins stabilizing? meta had good margins on ops even after spent a ton on metaverse. stable margin + rev accl = growth engine · free cash flow yield - money-printing machine or not. meta was ~10% FCF (literal outlier) · earning suprise streak - sound fundamental beats public sentiment long-term. nvidia had b2b massive beats w/o improved earnings · insider activity - not strongest alone but are people close to the co buying or dumping (saw family friend do this w intel which 2x'd last year).

the agent is making interesting trades ($1k in 1d) but its reactive to noise and acting like a day trader than identify & make structurally sound bets. meta in q4 2022 had 9.93% free cash flow yield but public sentiment was zuck was lighting billions on fire on metaverse nvidia pre-2023 was beating estimates but was "just a gaming company" asked claude to find patterns for these outliers - came w 5 signals
