@slickric02124 @fast_lane_brad @BHibburd @itsbrianbarrett @JoeyMurr Its shrunk because Queta isn’t a threat outside-RA, Pritch/White are shooting sub 32 3P%, Mazz went away from bench guys that got Cs to where they are now. Jaylen and Tatum can’t overcome that by just being more efficient in isolation. When Tatum out there, ball zips around more.

@slickric02124 @fast_lane_brad @BHibburd @itsbrianbarrett @JoeyMurr Mazzulla needs to go small ball with Tatum at 5 for stretches and use some inverted screen and rolls for JB and Tatum, they need to help each-other out so it’s not heavily relied on isolations against PG, Oubre, Maxey. They’re clearly not afraid defending 1 on 1.

@StoolGreenie Jaylen’s a tad bit higher because Joe went away from bench mob + White/Pritchard atrocious shooting on heavy volume. Almost like Jaylen is just taking it upon himself to be a hero but he has Paul George in front of him and can’t hit his FTs. Ironically his 3s are falling.

Definitely a little high, he was at 20% frequency / 1.01 ppp / 46.7% FG% / 76th percentile during the year Pritchard around the same volume : 13% / 1.11 ppp / 90th percentile Tatum well under his regular season volume : 22% / .067 ppp / 30% FG% / 12th percentile But obviously Tatum's regular season production is heavily skewed by his initial return. Much more like himself lately in that department imo

@StoolGreenie Jaylen ISO at 27% frequency is absolutely losing hoops. That’s disgusting.

Isolation offense through 6 playoff games; Jaylen Brown: 27.6% frequency / 0.95 ppp / 41% FG% / 62nd percentile Jayson Tatum: 13.7% frequency / 0.94 ppp / 38.5% FG% / 55th percentile Payton Pritchard: 11.6% frequency / 0.80 ppp / 33.3% FG% / 20th percentile For comparison, Paul George is at 16.7% frequency / 1.35 ppp / 57.1% FG% / 96th percentile

@fast_lane_brad @slickric02124 @BHibburd @itsbrianbarrett @JoeyMurr I agree you have to have a superstar that’s equipped to do those things but I can’t sit here and act like JB didn’t make those strides as floor raiser and creator. Every crunch time possession they ran it through him in RS. PG has just dominated the matchup and the floor shrunk.

@nassthepod @slickric02124 @BHibburd @itsbrianbarrett @JoeyMurr Did you read the rest of the thread? It was saying he is elite scorer but doesn’t make people better. So he carried by scoring but come playoff time that same tactic doesn’t work you need a superstar that gets other people involved and creates for others

Stop making this series a Jaylen centered issue. Mazzulla, Pritchard, and Queta have blood on their hands as well. But like I said all of this may mot mean anything if they grab Game 7. Can’t quit on the guys just like that. Just pray Mazzulla makes adjustments.
Nass@nassthepod

Lol so everyone in Boston is ready to flip Jaylen, Simmons already jumping to conclusions on if this summer would be the most idea timing to maximize flipping Jaylen as an asset. I’ve seen all the advanced stuff, he’s playing like shit to his standard but there’s still one game.

@MoggedByTatum @the_flash_wins_ Pritchard was a ghost until Game 3. Don’t do that. Doesn’t help that Jays aren’t getting fire power from bench because Mazzulla went away from bench mob that was electric all year and Queta’s lack of being a threat outside RA severely shrinks the floor.

@ktam99 @StoolGreenie When the role guys can’t hit shit or create for themselves, that’s what it resorts to, iso ball.

Its a lot easier to nullify and games plan for Tatum and Jaylen’s drives when Queta is parked in dunk spot. Horford & Porzingis’ spacing was so key for constant lanes to the rim. Cs took 3 FTs as a team in 2nd half.

In contrast, Tatum was 2/8 outside the restricted but 4/5 inside. Just infuriating stuff and I was nervous about when he would be ready to take leash off from a volume standpoint. He’s leading the team in minutes!!! (36.3) red flaggish regardless of his competitive nature

Biggest takeaway is Cs cant get info paint if PG and Maxey are staying in front of Jaylen. He’s posting up 15 ft from the basket and taking tough perimeter shots. His rim running opens those shots up but only 2 FGA inside restricted tonight. That impacts drive and kicks etc.
Nass@nassthepod

PG just trying shi now. Have the Jays run any inverted target screen and rolls? Those two feel like they’ve had to work extra hard for their buckets especially vs PG/Oubre. 8 bench points going into the 4th. Cs starting 5 doesn’t have the same equipped scoring fire power as 6ers.
