@ThePhDPlace I finished my PhD thesis in May of this year and thought I would be able to just roll into working on developing into a book MS... I have not been able to open the document until this week 😆 definitely needed to rejuvenate

Missing #riding & #horses lately and came across this article that addresses the question of why more #women than men care for horses... for the #power: "Horses are a superstimulus for the dynamic of acquiring strength through influence." Thoughts? psychologytoday.com/us/blog/how-to…

#Atla24 gets even better when Dr. Hussain responds to question with example of mid-century country singer Hank Williams & “reading” theology & understanding #faith/#religion in #music - #librarians #academichatter

Fantastic plenary from Dr. Amir Hussain for #Atla24 — wonderful presentation of value of interdisciplinary work for #academics, importance of librarians, & why Blake’s Great Red Dragon painting is best intro to the Bible for college students #theology #library #literature #art

In my research I have found there is often fluidity between anger and grief that is recognizable in real life situations. #anger #grief #emotions #literature

@noraraywrites Yes! Since finishing my PhD where I was primarily reading research (which I love but am a little burnt out at this point) I’m reading more modern fiction and it’s been great! Demon Copperfield was my last read.

@kimedieval 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 therapist gave me this as my assignment this week. It’s hard work!

@AngelJonesPhD Thank you for this. I hadn’t thought of my depression as grief for unrealized expectations. Although some from choice & some necessity, the loss of what I hoped & planned for still hurts as I try to figure out how to “pivot” & grow without losing self. My thoughts are with you ❤️

@ChrisDavidGill Reviewers who comment on personal life choices (that had nothing to do with my writing) in their critiques of my writing. Younger me was destroyed by someone I looked up to when they did this.

@FromPhDtoLife Reworking different sections of my dissertation for a couple of different book proposals/draft manuscripts.

@ChenxinLi2 Yes! That was my experience… although that was also 2020-21 for me and Covid was making it impossible to stay connected with my usual academic support system or push through my dissertation research because of the types of resources I needed…

@kemi_aa Pretty much the same as others: combination of teaching how to use AI as a tool rather than an answer, meetings with students in the brainstorming/development phase, reflective writing assignments.

Reading bk xiv of Ovid’s Met. Last night with Latin group & now Chaucer’s Troilus & Criseyde this morning for publication revision work. Always amazed at the consistent messaging concerning angry men when it comes to love #medievaltwitter #academic #literature #chaucer #ovid
