Some of you keep throwing around words like “misogynist” and “manchild” as if they’re casual insults for whenever you don’t like a performance... those are not light words, they carry real weight A misogynist is someone who holds deep hatred, contempt, or prejudice against women as a group. That means believing women are inferior, supporting harm against them, degrading them, or consistently acting in ways that oppress them. That word is tied to real discrimination and real damage A manchild is a grown man who consistently shows emotional immaturity, someone who avoids responsibility, lacks accountability, and behaves selfishly in ways that negatively affect others. Now explain to me how sitting for less than one minute in a choreographed performance equals hatred toward women. How does following stage direction suddenly define someone’s entire character? And let’s talk about “objectifying.” Objectification means reducing someone to just their body or body parts , stripping them of agency, identity, and humanity. It’s not just “a pose you didn’t like.” It’s about treating a person as an object rather than a human being If you’re not a dancer, choreographer, or someone familiar with performance direction, maybe pause before attaching serious social accusations to a few seconds of staged movement. Performance art often includes symbolism, positioning, power dynamics, and dramatic elements. Context matters. The whole performance matters , not just one fucking screenshot what’s even more frustrating is that this isn’t the first time. Some of you have made a pattern of using these heavy terms on multiple male artists whenever you’re uncomfortable( i am not defending everyone as some of them definitely needs to be called like that) and the hypocrisy? The same people shouting “women support women” are sometimes the first to drag female artist/ female dancers, question their dignity, or tear down women involved in performances. How are you protecting women while attacking other women? I’m saying this as a woman: empowerment isn’t about blindly attacking men. Feminism is about fairness, equality, and accountability not selective outrage. When you misuse serious terms just because you dislike someone, you weaken real conversations about real sexism. At the end of the day, everyone is responsible for themselves. Woman for herself. Man for himself Not every situation is oppression. Not every artistic choice is objectification. Not every man is automatically the villain. If you dislike him, just say that.
