Last week we welcomed young Canadians from all over the country to our Summer Leadership Program in Ottawa. Their ideas and their perspectives will help us build a stronger country for all.

Three years ago, Young Liberals elected me as President of the Young Liberals of Canada. We set out with a simple goal: to give young Canadians a stronger voice and the opportunity to lead. Across the country, I heard the same message again and again. In a polarized world, people are looking for community. In hard times, no one should have to choose between a good job today and a livable planet tomorrow. And in uncertain times, people want to be masters in their own home.  Together, we built a stronger movement: the Nation for Our Generation leadership pledge, nearly doubling youth participation at our national convention, the only nationwide on-campus GOTV campaign of any party, a relaunched international wing, our first-ever livestreamed debate, and the historic election of four young Liberal MPs. I may no longer be President of the Young Liberals, but I will keep fighting for a stronger future for all. On to the next chapter.

As a refugee born in Germany to Polish parents, she came to Canada in 1950 and studied law at the University of Toronto. Her work as Commissioner of the federal Royal Commission on Equality in Employment—the Abella commission—established theories of equality and discrimination that have been adopted in New Zealand, South Africa, and Northern Ireland. In 1992, she was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice, the youngest judge in Canadian history. She served on the SCC until her 75th birthday, on July 1, 2021.

The NDP should be ashamed to have had a separatist in their caucus for so long. Any party that claims to support a united Canada should firmly reject these sentiments.

One year ago, Canadians entrusted us to build Canada strong. United, we are building a Canada that is not just strong, but good; not just prosperous, but fair; not just for some, but for all.
