Couple of quick things we're watching today. The trend we first saw last evening of warm air being brought north into Mid-TN has continued and even intensified in some of the latest models. My best advice, mentally, get in a place where you start putting those early snow maps behind you and start embracing the nuance of this particular system. It's entirely possible we could see snow, sleet, freezing rain AND regular rain at various points throughout the event. Depending on just how long each precip type hangs on *greatly* determines the impacts we see. Elan is in the NWS briefing right now and writing the blog. We're getting closer to the time when details come into view, but we're still not quite there yet. Hang tight!

The hemp provision in this appropriations package wipes out nearly 100% of legal hemp products overnight: killing jobs, crushing farmers, and overriding 23 state laws that already regulate hemp responsibly. Our farmers have turned to hemp as a lifeline when fertilizer, fuel, and equipment costs skyrocketed and crop prices fell. Instead of working with us to crack down on bad actors and synthetic cannabinoids, some in Congress chose prohibition. Kentucky jobs are not collateral. Our farmers are not bargaining chips.

Today's high temperature of 87° at Nashville gives us 3 straight days with a high temperature greater than 85°. The last time we accomplished this feat so early in the season was April 13-15, 2017. Last year, we didn't experience 3 straight days warmer than 85° until May 14-16.

More lightningstorms will slowly work into town. One storm off to the west is severe warned for hail. This is not super terrible. The more storms we get before Taylor, the more likely the show will not be interrupted by lightning. / 519 PM
