Among the many things Grandma Kitty shared with Steph Curry tonight after the game at Barclays, one of my faves is a Mother’s Day card she received from her family. It read: “Happy Mother’s Day mom. Thank you for teaching us to love God, each other, and Steph Curry.” Enjoy!

@dembozCOYG23 Well votes reflect whether there’s a perceived gap is all I’m saying. You may not agree or trust it but it’s the media who vote on end of the year awards. So when someone says there’s a gap, I’m simply saying the vote doesn’t reflect that.

@natfluential Yes but you said that just because the media voters gave Paige second means that the gap is smaller than it is but just because biases clearly play a role I don’t trust the media votes especially when I saw one media member literally be a hypocrite about a reason they voted for

The all star votes really were basing greatness off the all star votes if that’s the case I really don’t give a fuck about the media because everyone and their mothers voted Paige as the number one guard besides the dumbass voters
Natalie Esquire@natfluential

@latieke She’s not though. So that can be your opinion but the All-Star vote shows you that’s not how voters feel. And there is nothing in the numbers that actually validates that POV either.

This quite literally shows Paige clears
Natalie Esquire@natfluential

@latieke The team records don’t support you & the numbers don’t either. You’re arguing her season is so superior when the difference in their stats are marginal. In some categories not even a point separates them. So tell me what is the bias? How do you arrive at bias? On/offs favor Liv.

@535bball Yea I was pointing out the hypocrisy. Like if you read that & thought the point was I want absolute agreement, I think you should re-read it. I’m talking about extremes. One day I have sense the next day I have no integrity. That’s so volatile. Why can’t it just be disagreement?

@natfluential You knew what you were doing bringing her up. And let’s not forget, people can agree with one thing and absolutely disagree with another thing said. We as people/fans/media should in no context blindly agree with everything someone said because we agree with one point they made

@bueckers__ I didn’t use Azzi’s name in any negative way. So this is silly. And I don’t expect anyone to support me blindly nor do I care. The point isn’t about support. It’s about calling into question someone’s intelligence and integrity b/c their opinion differs from you.

@natfluential pointing out the “fickle nature of fans” still does not require u to use her name btw. and as a media member, u directly influence wnba awards and selections. so why would u expect people to blindly support every single one of your takes if they don’t agree with them?

@Wosocanadian No, I don’t think they’re all doing the same. The guard play is incredible this year but Olivia and Paige have separated themselves from the others imo.

@natfluential You will never win, the truth is no one knows who is the best guard is until the end of the season, teams are still building and changing. At this point about 4-5 guards, Paige Olivia, marina kelsey are all doing the same, no one close to Aja

@Moneykobe140973 Obviously I can’t speak for every voter but that wasn’t a prevailing POV (I don’t think). Either way, I personally wasn’t moved by that as an argument. I think leading your team to be so dominant and have the huge lead in the standings that they did is incredibly valuable.

@natfluential I recall some voters mentioning that Phee wasn’t as valuable to her team as A’ja because they showed they can succeed without her but thanks for your insight

I partially agree - Alanna has been going back & forth w/ injury. Every Lynx that joined this year looks better than the previous year (Howard, Caldwell, Nia, etc) Lynx showed last year that they could win w/ and w/o Phee (which docked her mvp case) just like how they can w/ and w/o miles
Natalie Esquire@natfluential

I think we have to be careful about trying to call players system players. Shep is thriving and Alanna hasn’t looked the same. So which is it? Cheryl is the 🐐. But Olivia still maximizes the system. And we’ve seen it doesn’t go as well w/o her.
