But even after everything, I still wanted love. A puppy was brought to the shelter, paralyzed with fear. A sweet lonely pup Lucy who was also waiting for a forever home took to her immediately, they formed a bond and clung together. The shelter decided to only adopt the two of them together as a pair. Happily, one of the volunteers at the shelter fell in love with them both and is taking them home today.

I went to a shelter to get a dog and I saw this brindle laying on the hard ground. I made eye contact with him and he got up and he brought a tennis ball over. I asked to see him and I was told he was returned two times because he was too wild and cried all the time. When he was brought back to his cage he cried. It broke my heart. I told the man I wanted him. He told me I'd be sorry. When we got home I worked with him and changed things so he'd be comfortable. He has bad separation anxiety. Everything worked out. He's my pal. We play catch with tennis balls daily. His name is Popeye. 🤗❤💟

I just adopted him. He walked out of the shelter clinging to his torn little toy — the only piece of comfort he had left. He hasn’t let go of it. Not yet. Because he’s still scared. Because his past is written in the way he curls up tightly and flinches at sudden sounds. Sometimes he shakes. Sometimes he hides. But when he rests his head on my lap, he whispers without words: “Please… let this be my forever.” And I promise him: It is. You’ll never be alone again. From now on, you’ll sleep safely, with toys, peace, love — and me. 🐶🧸🤍

Yesterday, I adopted the oldest, sickest, and most broken dog at the shelter. I’ll never forget the look in his eyes. When I stepped into his cage, he didn’t even glance up—he was so used to being overlooked. Curled up in the corner, he had already accepted his fate. The volunteer kept asking me, “Are you sure about this one? Are you sure?” Without hesitation, I said, “YES! This is my dog.” As the cage opened, three other animals tumbled out, but I went straight to him. Suddenly, he looked up at me as if he were seeing an angel. I wrapped him in my arms and whispered, “You’re going to be happy again.” He fell asleep in my lap—probably the first peaceful sleep he’d ever known. Give them a chance. Give them love. They need us. From a dad who saved a soul.

An asylum worker refused to put this dog to sleep and took him home to take care of him. He did a great job.❤️

Our Sammy who crossed the rainbow bridge on May 8, 2023 after a 9 month battle with multiple myeloma. Sammy was an incredible cat. We miss him every day!

She had a large protruding and uncomfortable mass which turned out to be a huge hernia. She is now spayed and the hernia repaired and is looking great. After further assessment and deliberation we feel that it is not necessarily in the best interests of either dog to remain together. Amber tells her now 7 yr old 'pup' off regularly and we feel that it may be beneficial for them to find homes independently of each other - although we would also consider homing them together in the right home. This is Pixy. I got her after the legendary Crumble died because I found that I couldn’t live without a Jack Russel in my life. Her dog mum was sick of her being annoying and her human mum just wanted rid of her. I was worried I was taking on a real problem. Turns out what others found annoying we find charming and funny, straight out of a cartoon ❤️

She waited longer than any other dog at the shelter And when her moment finally came She made sure to bring her plush toys with her Because they were the only comfort she ever had
