@NITAUganda1 in collaboration with @MoICT_Ug have officially announced the launch of the National IP Peering Exchange (NIPX) scheduled to take place this Friday, 17th April, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. As Uganda’s first neutral and open Internet Exchange Point (IXP), the NIPX will serve as a strategic national digital hub. It enables Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content providers, government networks, and other digital players to exchange local traffic directly within Uganda, effectively ending the costly practice of sending domestic data on unnecessary global detours. Key benefits of the NIPX include: 📉Lower Costs - Reduced dependence on expensive international bandwidth for local traffic ⚡️Faster Speeds - Significantly lower latency for smoother online experiences 🛡️Greater Resilience - A more stable and secure national internet ecosystem, even during international disruptions This launch is a major deliverable under the Digital Uganda Strategy and Vision 2040. It reinforces Uganda’s commitment to digital sovereignty, improved service delivery, and building a competitive, thriving digital economy. #NITAU #NIPX

The sessions are strengthening capacity for effective grievance handling, promoting transparent implementation and meaningful stakeholder engagement across regions. Our teams are in Mbarara and Kiryandongo, having completed a full day of training on the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) under the Uganda Digital Acceleration Project-Government Network (UDAP-GovNet).
