When a new client starts with us, the first thing we do is have them track what they're actually eating for two weeks. Almost every single one is eating far less than they think. 1,400 calories. 1,600 on a good day. 50 grams of protein. These are women wondering why they lost their period or can't conceive. And even when they see the numbers, most of them resist the idea that they need to eat more. Years of dieting culture have convinced them that less is better, that hunger is discipline, and that their body should be able to function on what they're giving it. So instead of trying to convince them, we just start building their calories up gradually. And then they start noticing things on their own. They have more energy, better sleep, better digestion, cycles become less painful, etc. Some get their period back for the first time in years. The body doesn't lie. When you give it enough fuel, it rewards you. You just have to be willing to ignore the diet culture noise and listen to your body.
