@kenfromdeerpark @Candour100 Because a main reason Geel have been able to stay at GMHBA is the fact that it has the backing & funding of the state Gov. Which makes it a viable ground in the AFL. Melb based clubs didn't have that option. Hence, had to move to marvel or MCG. Unlike Geel who kept home ground.

Gee how lucky are Geelong to be the only Victorian team to have a genuine home ground advantage? Without it, the stats suggest they're an average team.

@kenfromdeerpark @Candour100 Geelong did fold to a certain extent. The AFL requires Geelong to play 3 or 4 home games in Melbourne. So saying that you have the advantages that you have because you didn't fold is incorrect. The original point was that Geelong has greater advantages, they do, regardless.

@kenfromdeerpark @Candour100 Let me clarify for you, you're clearly not understanding, it's not about folding, the AFL forced the hand of melb based clubs that were still playing at local grounds. Geelong didn't have to "fold" because the AFL weren't forcing them to move.

@kenfromdeerpark @Candour100 Colonial stadium was built because the league wanted / needed a 2nd main stadium. Gov wasn't putting $ into local grounds to make them AFL standard, instead the AFL incentivised the move for Melbourne clubs to become tenants of Colonial stadium and the MCG.

Connor O’Sullivan is the best young defender in the game. You could argue Reuben Ginbey but he has to punch above his height. You wouldn’t swap him for Mac Andrew or Harry Dean. Cats have done it again. The 21-year-old on a potential Josh Treacy match-up tomorrow, playing on Charlie Curnow and the one pastime he is completely hopeless at. Is it just me or was that performance completely underwhelming from the 17 listed AFL players? Not sure claims of selection integrity are right based off that. None seem to knock down the door except for one bloke who is not even old enough to be on a list @CarltonReserves

@The_PrenderCast @gardinerstand I'd almost prefer to see the likes of Byrne, Ison, Moir, really become players in the VFL than play AFL and just lose confidence 🤷

@The_PrenderCast @gardinerstand Absolutely! First quarter was great. Fought back and held on when Saints kept coming. When we were struggling, it was those 'almost' players that butchered it and turned it over. They need to improve that before getting AFL games. We've got upside though!!

Watching our twos is frustrating because in many ways they play a more modern, better style of footy than the ones. Not sure how thats possible, but here we are…
