It's official: Proponents of a ballot initiative that would ban the sale of foie gras in D.C. can now start collecting signatures from voters. They'll need 23,803 signatures from D.C. voters by July 6 to get what's now known as Initiative 86 on the November ballot. 🪿

It has more to do with the bird flu and irresponsible farmers who care more about profit and free government handouts than actually protecting their animals. They could vaccinate chickens like they do in other countries, but they’d rather kill their flock to get government subsidies. And tax payers continue to foot the bill…

@RajlabN I was out in Tulare yesterday and recorded footage from two farms that had dead cows out front on the side of the road. There was no signage anywhere warning people of the public health risks. I called the CDFA to express my concerns.
