POV: it’s nesting szn 🐢 This leatherback turtle is on its way to its nest on Matura Beach in Trinidad. Thanks to the efforts of our dedicated partners at @NatureSeekers, this beach nesting area is clean and safe for leatherbacks and other sea turtle species to reproduce.

1,150 pounds. This is what Penny, the largest turtle weighed at Matura beach to date recorded.  A record so far for sure. Penny the turtle was named after @PlanningTT's Minister @pennybeckles by @NatureSeekers for her efforts regarding turtle conservation.
