@GLLMSYFan The accident feels to me like her dreaming of losing Klao and realizing how awful really losing her would be. I could be wrong about that all of course.

@GLLMSYFan I haven't had the chance to watch the episode yet, but did see some scenes &the preview for the last one. I get the feeling they're touching on Si being spoiled and over the top (which bothers me because she had improved so much but whatever)&they're all teaching her some lesson.

Something that’s been sitting with me after EP7. In the novel Klao says to Si “if you take 1 step back I’ll take 3 steps forward to meet you.” And Si has genuinely done that. She moved rurally. She embraced Klao’s world completely. She learned, she grew, she helped the village, she changed as a person in the most beautiful way. Si’s character arc this series has been extraordinary. Klao went to the city for a day and did some Si things. The neighbour situation was the perfect moment for the show to give us Klao taking those 3 steps forward. To show her choosing Si the way Si has consistently chosen her. Instead she doubled down and the problem is they removed the reason she doubles down in the book, where Si loses it banging and yelling at the neighbour’s door, scaring her and her sick grandmother inside. That’s a legitimate reason for Klao to be frustrated. Without it Klao just seems like she doesn’t care how Si is feeling. And I get it has to stay because Si has to take the kids but it makes how little Klao has to move a stark contrast to Si. In the novel Klao also finds land closer to Bangkok so they both move half way towards each other. The show doesn’t need to do that literally but the spirit of it, Klao visibly compromising, visibly stepping forward closer to Si’s world that hasn’t really been there. Si has such a strong arc it’s made Klao’s feel smaller by comparison. Both have accepted each other completely and that’s beautiful. But the balance of who has done the harder work feels uneven. I trust the show. I just want to see Klao take her 3 steps before it ends. Holding out an apology isn’t it. Si has more than earned them.
