@vamshi_gade_md That’s what I immediately appealed the CTA decision and got it changed but the procedure got delayed due to that

@nayanagarwal85 There is 0 value in a CTA on a patient with stents, symptoms and abnormal perfusion study.

Pt with CAD s/p multiple PCI,on dialysis now with CCS2 angina, on 2 Antianginals, moderate risk stress test. Insurance refuses cath and says do CTA. Successfully appealed and cath approved but 2 days before procedure has NSTEMI

Filter design can predict ease of removal. I'm sure my IRad colleagues have removed filters back when they were hewn from stone. @keithppereira @kmadass @LessneVIR @Watts_IR @SIRspecialists

Go with bigger 14-16F sheath if old filter. Crushing old filter is well described technique for filters that can’t come out.

But no experience retrieving such old filters. I read data suggesting crushing also has good latency hence went with that. Locally no one retrieving old filters so pt didn’t have much options
