At the bus station in my habit with my profession candle sticking out my backpack. Been asked twice: “Do you know you’re a monk?” “Do you know there’s a candle there?” I’m thrilled to confirm I’m aware of both. Invernesians are so helpful.

Friends, we are looking, hopefully, for any copies of the Galley Prayer Book Office. We know how rare they are, and that this is no small ask. If you happen to have a spare copy, or come across one, we would be very grateful if you might consider passing it on to us.

At our monthly gathering this evening, Br. Andrew-Thomas led discussion on prayer and the contemplative life, drawing on the Rule’s chapters on the Office, silence, and Eucharistic adoration. A simple theme held it together: prayer is less about intensity, and more about return.

Offering Compline this night for those who left a message unsent and chose silence instead. May God hold what you kept back, and grant you rest.

On this World Day of Prayer for Vocations, we pray for all discerning God’s call: whatever form it takes. We ask your prayers for us as a Community. Lord of the harvest, send labourers into your vineyard, and give us grace to recognise and follow your voice.

Today we’re designing a white tropical habit for me, with a season of ministry in warmer climates on the horizon. I’ll be needing something fit for the sun.

Br. Andrew-Thomas had a wonderful Holy Week, staying with Fr. Prior and preaching in his charge at the beginning of the week, culminating in the joy of Easter Sunday.

Happy (snowy and sunny) Easter, all. Christ is risen! He is risen indeed, alleluia! Grateful for the warm welcome from the Scottish Episcopal Church on the Black Isle during Holy Week.
