looking at the salaries between $45 mil and $35 mil, it’s not unreasonable to pay AR $40 mil. perhaps he takes less in order to aid in building the team out. we’ll see.

If Luka/AR are your future backcourt, the other 3 starting spots (SF/PF/C) MUST be plus athletes/defenders as a baseline.
Obviously being a 3 point shooter would be a plus, but these are the baseline requirements.

Rui is a very good offensive player that just doesn't fit in the long term Luka/AR vision of roster building and that's okay Helped develop him for multiple seasons, became one of the best shooters itl with us, let him go get his bag, it happens

It’s not disdain. His last 12 playoff games: 14.4 ppg on 38% shooting along with below average defense. You’re going to pay him 20% of the salary cap and pair him with Luka as his long term backcourt partner? You cannot win a championship like that. Are you watching the playoffs right now? Do you see the types of player on the top teams that surround their stars? Long, athletic, defensive minded players - that’s not AR

I am so confused by the disdain for Austin bc he is so unproblematic & just works hard. I don’t think you can use this series to say he is a “playoff dropper” bc he came back not 100% playing w/ a somewhat diff team. If he never got injured I would understand the discourse more

Marcus Smart is the best in-bounder on the team. You want Austin and LeBron on the floor. If you want Kleber out there to set a screen and get a good look - which he did - then it comes down to Kennard and Rui, the two best 3-point shooters in the league last year
