And this isn’t just the @nytimes. It’s industry wide. A couple years ago I interviewed for a position with Politico and was asked explicitly how I would prove that my Palestinian background wouldn’t lead to biases in my reporting. They never ask Israeli journalists that question.

Sorry, I’m still laughing at the NYT reasoning that having Palestinian reporters writing about Palestine/Israel would be too biased, while their actual Middle East reporter is a former IDF soldier and they have several other former IDF soldiers and AIPAC affiliated reporters.
