The duplex fire on Cedar Street in Yoncalla is under control. Crews will be on scene for the next few hours. No injuries reported. Official release to follow.

North Douglas County Fire & EMS in cooperation with Douglas Forest Protective Association, will be doing a live fire burning operation at Yoncalla High School, today, Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Training/Burning will begin at 7:00 PM.

The smoke moving into the valley is from fires outside of our area. There are no current fires in our district.

With many people worried of power outages due to high wind, high temperatures, and wildfire potential over the next few days, it is understandable to have a back up plan if the power does go out. However, generators can pose a wildfire or structure fire if not properly used.

Bring the Family out for a night of fun at the Firehouse and watch Cars the movie on the big screen. Bring a blanket, pillow, or a chair. Drop by earlier and take a tour of the station and firetrucks. Plenty of goodies and activities. Event: fb.me/e/2Q0UBA6nj
