With the final pick of Thursday night’s first round, the Seahawks selected Notre RB Jadarian Price. There never had been a year in which the top two running backs were selected from the same school. Now both Jeremiyah Love and Price accomplished that feat for the Fighting Irish.

A newsy wrinkle from Bevacqua: As part of an MOU signed last spring, Notre Dame is assured of a CFP berth if it is ranked in the top 12 starting next year. If this year’s situation unfolds next year, the final at-large team (Miami) would have gotten bumped for No. 11 Notre Dame.

BYU joined a conference. Did that help them? Duke “won” the ACC. Did that help them? For the “ND should join a conference crowd,” tell me again why? It would actually make it easier for us to get in if we did have that opportunity. But, who really cares about a conf champ? 🤷🏻‍♂️

@deptulahasrage You can’t say “ND has it so easy to get in” one year because they are independent and then the next say they didn’t get in because of independence and they need to be in a conference to get in. Clearly, it’s more difficult to be independent.
