Food costs are too high. I agree with you on that. But you can mitigate that with super easy, repeatable meals. For lunch today (every day, for the most part, except when I eat leftovers) I have 4 tubs of Oikos Triple Zero Yogurt and 3/4 granola. Cost = ~$3.50. For breakfast (almost every day) I have a protein shake over 1.5c Wheaties. Cost = ~$4 You're acting like this is craziness, but it's extremely doable with basically no effort. And we do it as scale for my big family. The only thing we're not doing is spending $28 on a burrito, aside from special occasions. Not every meal has to be a feast...and that's coming from a former fat guy who LOVES TO EAT.

We have 12 people (not a typo) in our family, and at least once a week we feed everyone with something like this, all from Costco: 3lbs spaghetti: ~$3 2 jars of Rao's pasta sauce: $14 2lbs 90/10 frozen ground beef: $12 2 pack of Costco baguettes: $6 Incidentals (butter, cream, spices): $1 Total cost: $37, or roughly $3 per person Add a 3rd lb of ground beef and some alfredo sauce to thicken things up, and your cost per person jumps to a still reasonable ~$4.15. And you'll likely have leftovers. You can do this!

Both Homelander and Daenerys Targaryen had similar character arcs that ended EXACTLY how they were telegraphed throughout the course of the series they were in. Homelander wanted to be loved at any cost, but deep down knew he never would. That pushed him towards his end by attempting to become seen as God. Daenerys wanted to be loved, but knew that she could never be AS loved as Jon Snow. This, on top of her pretension to violence (as literally shown quite often on the show) led her to act the way she did when King's Landing fell. Both characters were ALWAYS the bad guys, and both had their stories acted out from the beginning. Perhaps if you dimwits would stop gooning over boobs and violence, you might learn a thing or two from the scenes where characters are talking. Just because you might not like something, doesn't mean it was bad...

Anyways, I’m more annoyed by the sheer number of people saying “you didn’t even watch the show” or “you have no media literacy” Okay. So what you want me to say is “Homelander has always been an insecure baby hiding behind his powers, so without them he becomes his true self.” I obviously understood that’s the messaging they were going for. I’m not retarded. My point is that this is too comical and a bit exaggerated, and based off an entirely inaccurate assumption of “strong men in their final moments.” I don’t think Homelander would have acted that way even despite his insecurities. I believe his god complex and psychopathic nature would have led him to be in denial, and would die either in an anger-driven fight (and losing) or begging butcher to kill him (and crying) as opposed to talking in a baby voice offering to eat poop.

I don't care what anyone says. This was out of character for Homelander, even for someone as insecure as him. It would've made much more sense for him to fall into a fit of rage, like Anakin at the end of RotS. Not a baby offering to eat poop. I will die on this hill.

My kids don't want me to change my face 😭 (vulnerable post, I'm sorry) One of my exes broke my nose many years ago, and I've wanted to get a nose job to fix it ever since. Bills and kids took financial priority, so I'm only just now preparing to do it. I did the consult and talked to my kids about it, but they had strong feelings about this (unexpected, because they've never cared what I do before)... They want me to look like "me" and they've only known me with my broken nose. They love my face as it is. And I understand how that could be weird for them. But I selfishly want to look like the me I was before the abuse, I want my actual nose back, I want to breathe better and not see what my ex did when I look at myself in the mirror, I want to love my face more. I have sacrificed everything for my kids since the day they were born, I work hard to give them everything, I even homeschool them, and the last thing I want to do is break their hearts if they look at my face and don't see their mom anymore. I don't think I can bring myself to do it now 😭 and it makes me feel sad to accept that I will wear the abuse on my face forever. Idk I'm just saying this here because I can't really say it outloud anywhere else and I needed to get this one out. Thank you for being my diary.

You just think you're entitled to every luxury. - You don't want to live in a 1000 sq ft house, it has to be 3000 sq ft - You need to drive a new car every 4 years - Vacation has to be at a nice hotel with room service - Dinner has to be Door Dashed because you're tired - I need a new iPhone every 18 months - Everyone goes to Disney World, so I deserve to as well No you don't. Make more money or be quiet. You're not entitled to eat out every day. Growing up, we ate out 2x a month, and it was a bag of burgers and a few large fries we split. "We shouldn't have to live like they did in the old days" No luxury is an entitlement. You still have to put in the work to afford it.

Many of us in older generations lived on Raman which is still just about 50 cents a pack. And no one is forcing you to eat out… make a sandwich. Take an apple or a banana. Can of soup is a buck. Hope this helps.

The "make your own lunch" debate is hilarious. I started teaching in 2004 and was broke as a joke. Was still teaching in 2010 when my first kid was born, add in daycare, was even more broke. I never ate out M-F, ever. I would play a game called "can I have a zero week". A "zero week" is a week where I didn't buy a single thing other than essentials. Just groceries, make meals at home, and gas for my 2002 Honda if I needed it. Most weeks, I accomplished this, and had "zero weeks". That entire time, I worked 2nd and 3rd jobs and always sought out ways to earn more/make side gig money. I quickly realized I needed to find a way to untie dollars and hours. It wasn't that long after, I took out a domain name and started blogging... and the rest is history. But I still make all my meals at home, other than Saturday nights. Occasionally we will get take out on Sundays. That's it. Zero eating out as a family other than that, even though our financial situation is very different now. The younger generation thinks privilege should be the norm, on a daily basis, and this "debate" proves it.
