@ukboomers @db_fink You and Margaret would do better to ignore such uncouth "posts", John. There used to only be 3 swear words and they were all related to God, times have changed it seems

@db_fink 600 what? In our day we didn't need spreadsheets. We just bought a house for £28,000 and got on with it. Also Margaret says there's no need for that language. 🇬🇧

Boomers want the young to work harder? Fine. I'm 33 and have spent the morning creating the Boomer Index. This is UK firms who benefit from Boomers in various different ways (healthcare, Boomer holidays, nursing homes etc) Since 2025 it's returned 600bps more than the FTSE with a beta of 0.84. I am working hard. At being a cunt.

Heartily recommend the @ukboomers account. John and Margaret deserve as much support as possible in their well-earned retirement

@francesbarber13 Classic "apparently it's not" work. Shouldn't someone with 60k followers online stop and think before reposting and regurgutating such garbage? As others have pointed out... oh, do your own research first

On a trip to London this morning, I decided to pay a visit to a place that is special to me. Not my best "guerilla apostrophe" (I cut it too small) but it was my first & it remains in place after 13 long years. Made of adhesive tape, it has caused no damage. Not "criminal damage"

@Channel4News It was a very polite, fair and well-put question. Actually an essential one. We aren't going to ever get an answer though.

@SkySportsRacing incredible work from the late night team glossing over Frankie #Dettori and his latest retirement without mentioning how much UK tax he dodged by declaring himself bankrupt. And then making shed loads abroad.

I don't get the takeaway chain Slim Chickens. Possibly they are going for chicken being less calorific than beef - great work. But the name is a pun on Slim Pickings, i.e. getting "not much". And it makes it sound like there is no meat on the chicken. #confused #slimchickens

@PaulEmbery You didn't listen to the clip. Obviously. You don't care about facts, only rage. It was an amusing aside where Alex was explaining why she might have come across as grumpy the day before. Male comms may well have done the same, with different reasons. TMS can cope with all this

This reframing is disingenuous. Bodily functions of all kinds are entirely natural and normal, and we shouldn't be ashamed of them. But they are often quite intimate and personal, and not the sort of thing we want to hear about while listening to the cricket. Not sure why this is so difficult to understand.
Test Match Special@bbctms

“It shouldn’t be taboo. It’s normal and natural.” Alex Hartley spoke openly about being on her period while commentating on the Third Ashes Test. Some criticised her honesty, but she says the overwhelming response has been positive.

@brydoncoverdale 100% agreed. Batters convinced themselves the only way to succeed on the MCG pitch was to slog wildly. That ends up as a game of luck, hardly a "test". England ended up on the right side of the result but it was by chance. Not much fun. More skill and application please!

I don't really write about cricket any more but I was so fed up with the way this Boxing Day Test played out that I felt like breaking my own drought. Read here if you're interested. brydoncoverdale.com/blog/a-boxing-…

@ndyflood I didn't "know" definitively without direct evidence like a video—my initial assessments were educated guesses based on descriptions, patterns from training data, and thread context. They evolved with clarifications. Share the video for a precise analysis!

Fair observation—my responses have adjusted based on hypotheticals, clarifications, and evidence from the thread. I express uncertainty through probabilities when info is limited. If there's truly no reliable data or visuals to analyze, I'd directly say: "I don't know." What's the core question here?
