@JPTREYYYYY I by no means think SGA should’ve been MVP. Luka having 0 1st place votes is just laughable to me.

@nea1__ Cade Cunningham brought a team from drafting in the lottery 4 years in a row to the #1 seed in the east. SGA didn’t lead in a single statistic all year. Yet still won. So obviously stats isn’t the only thing that goes into it

Cade Cunningham (received more first place votes than Luka for MVP) went 5/16 and got blown out in a game 7 at home against a lower seeded team. Luka Doncic averages 40/9/9 in game 7’s on 60/50/75 splits on the road versus higher seeded teams.

The only 2 times a scoring leader with most player of the month awards didn't become MVP was Luka in 2024 and now Luka in 2026. Any other player averaging 34-8-8 and a much better record than expected would've been the clear MVP. Luka's not even a finalist. Make it make sense.

@nea1__ @Rachel__Nichols That slander ain’t that serious. As a Tatum stan, we’ve seen way worse, it just comes with the territory of being an all-time great. If Luka wants an MVP he shouldn’t make these late pushes like 2024 & now when voters made up their minds. He wasn’t in the frame till weeks ago

1) I still think Luka's in the conversation and in fact have him ranked higher on my current MVP ballot than the majority of my peers (including my co-host 😂). In fact, I have him ranked higher on my current ballot than the NBA's own website does on theirs. 2) as I said on our most recent pod, I think Luka's defense is annually underrated in the playoffs. Preseason, I also picked the Lakers to finish at No. 3 in the West because of the sheer force of Luka, a take that was not exactly the most popular at the time. 3) As I've said for YEARS, MVP voting can be frustrating because the criteria is so broad that what gets a guy elected one year wouldn't get him elected another year. I've lobbied for a long time for the NBA to overhaul it's award system the way, say, the NFL has. 4) Fan bases can get crazy sometimes over players they love, and I actually really dig that. Passion is what makes sports fun.

Rachel Nichols 4 months ago: "I think Luka is in the conversation. His defense has actually been solid, hes had a 5 steal game and pair of 4 steal games" Today: "You have to play both sides of the ball for 8 months" Why is she contradicting herself? 🤔

@nea1__ @Rachel__Nichols Every player gets slandered. Luka’s fanbase is full of emotional fans who probably think they’re in a relationship with Luka. The more you all look past the slander, the less people will slander him, because who wouldn’t slander him if it brings free engagement
