@KyleMizokami A 100 USD rental is a lot easier than owning any car in any city. Or pretending to be friends with people who own trucks but not horses. 😸
English

Everyone in the big city dislikes pickup trucks until they need help moving.

Is it something about the English language that makes people cruel and dumb?
(To be clear, not the protestors.)

massive pro-trans protests in Scotland against London's decision to try to nullify Scotland's new law making it slightly easier to take the administrative steps to change your gender

@chengela Broken twitter has eaten my response - maybe it will return - but, this sure resonates. I got an electronic piano recently in order to have something quiet to play in my apartment. Even in the hands of a goofball who struggles to read more than 1 note at a time, it's very nice.😸

@Andrefor40th @bikegridnow @balupuppy Fantastic! (I'm kinda sad I can only live in one district. But, I'll be campaigning for others, heartily. Cheers!)
English

This election season we are asking municipal candidates to endorse The Bike Grid. We have 28 endorsements so far, covering 18 wards and 2 mayoral candidates. You can see which candidates have endorsed a safer and better Chicago. Check them out here: bikegridnow.org/2023-election 1/

@reynoldsgareth One reading of that sentence is a lot more interesting than the alternative. I'm hoping both are true.
English

@PinkoScare Limited to people who lived long enough to talk and we actually know a lot about?
(My very briefly considered, off-hand answer is that Harriet Tubman is probably in the running.)
English

@BellatrixCarrie Apologies if I'm saying stuff you already know, but Cassady (who Dean is based on) was bisexual and probably had some sort of intimate relationship with Kerouac. He certainly did with other people in the same circle. I suspect it actually is supposed to sound that way.
English

@sunnysideyards @anthonydmarek Yup. It's radically changed my understanding of cars and planes. Not just wrt COVID.
English

@anthonydmarek Which leads me to say...I just got an Aranet today to check the ventilation situation & it's crazy what I'm finding just in my own apt. Weird how we don't even think of the air if it seems fresh. Glad to be learning.
English

Agreed! Air is invisible. People take it for granted. If they can’t see or smell nastiness, they assume it’s fine. We know better. Breath IS life.

@Wasabi_Pete (for context, that's a line from Cats, the soundtrack of which I was listening to at the time. The 2019 film version is both the best and worst thing ever created by humankind. But I love a sincere answer. 😻)
English

@PinkoScare Also, if you don't notice your partner is wearing a backpack until you kiss, you should probably be a lot more observant when dating. (Not that a backpack is a bad thing. An axe might be.)
English

@PinkoScare I would have a very different list. I agree with lakes, mostly.
English

@alannasimone Me encantaría que mis reuniónes fueran la misma. 🦝😀
