Unbelievably radicalizing exchange The fact that Newsom (correctly?) thinks this will gain him points is horrific Any competent politician (forgive the oxymoron) would tighten budgets at every turn To openly mock those exposing the disgusting fraud and abuse ... Insane.

If you're young and built something real instead of padding a resume -- garage projects in high school, robotics, pro gaming, sneaker bots, shipping side projects while your friends were joining college clubs, building things instead of taking internships you didn't care about -- DM me. I don't care about your GPA. I care about what you couldn't stop yourself from making.

Many talented people over the past few years were declined an offer or even an interview @xAI. My apologies. @BarisAkis and I are going through the company interview history and reaching back out to promising candidates.

and it seems like exactly what I've been looking for no setup, hosted for you (no Mac Mini needed). They’ve got a curated skill market — hand-picked workflows you can one-step install instead of hunting and wiring everything yourself. Inbox triage, briefings, research, content ... pick a skill, hit install, and you’re running a production-grade OpenClaw in minutes the "production grade AI assistant" space is going to blow up, and I imagine they’ll ship full-blown AI employees soon watch this space!

I've had a lot of fun playing with OpenClaw, but there's a lot of config and tinkering needed tbh would love to set my family up but the overhead is too much — and I've been hoping someone would polish and productionize the setup. have been playing around with myclaw .ai ...

@nearlydaniel thats what codemode solves though, just have them write code to call tools - they're even better at writing code than they are calling CLIs

MCP sucking is a harness problem, not an MCP problem MCP unlocks behavior that is fundamentally impossible to get via CLI or APIs Bad auth, too much context usage, all get solved with an execution layer - your agent writes code to progressively discover and call tools
Garry Tan@garrytan

MCP sucks honestly It eats too much context window and you have to toggle it on and off and the auth sucks I got sick of Claude in Chrome via MCP and vibe coded a CLI wrapper for Playwright tonight in 30 minutes only for my team to tell me Vercel already did it lmao But it worked 100x better and was like 100LOC as a CLI

in 2019 i went for my squat PR, slightly twisted my knee, pushed through the rep because thats what you do when you're 23 and stupid and the next morning i couldn't move my leg since then it's been six years of specialists. one said it was a quadricep lesion, told me to rest for two weeks and stretch, that it would resolve on its own. didn't work one said ACL, prescribed hot-cold therapy and stretching, said give it time. didn't work one said it was psychological and that i needed to learn to live with the pain. genuinely insane in retrospect, and obviously didn't work cortisone injections, tecar therapy, hot-cold therapy, stretching, massages, MRIs, x-rays, etc thousands of dollars for nothing i accepted that this was going to be my life, an unc with chronic pain as a 60yo, i trained through it, never heavy, hiked carefully, knowing a slight twist in my left leg meant two days of not walking, i stopped jumping and accepted that a 24 year old's squat injury was going to define my physical life forever two months ago i injected BPC-157 into my knee. two hours later i walked without pain for the first time since 2019 i've been doing 1-2 mg/day since, local and systemic a research peptide did in 2 hours what the "establishment" couldn't do in 6 years (funny enough is that this is not FDA approved because no one can make money from it) obviously this is not medical advice but three wrong diagnoses, six years of chronic pain, thousands in treatment costs, and zero results from the approved pathway vs two hours and a peptide makes you think (it also made my pp bigger and harder which i found out after the fact. sometimes the universe just decides you've suffered enough)

One of my side projects this week has been incorporating @openclaw as a tool for students at @AlphaSchoolATX. Every single Alpha high school student can have one now, AI tokens covered by Alpha and the agent's config tweaked to help with their big Alpha X projects. I'm also building custom Claws for the lower schools. E.g. the 6-7 year olds in Scottsdale are working with Sparky, an OpenClaw custom tailored to help them dream up an invention and eventually bring it to life through images and even 3D printing. No other school like it.

Pretty insane that I can just vibe code any web app I want (acne tracker, gym tracker etc), run it on a port of my laptop, and then access it on my phone via TailScale. No need to deploy to a domain or app store, all free, and completely tailored to me.

@lukaslevert Tried auto router for a bit, don't like it that much. Will probably switch back to heavier models But yeah, nice to get general observability

@nearlydaniel Do you use auto-router or do you specify your model? I wasn't getting good response times so I switched to Claude Pro auth. I want to try this approach though, sounds like a good way to get my bot locked in.

btw if you are serious about OpenClaw or similar, the best advice I have is: use OpenRouter (easy observability), and export your API calls to LangFuse (free plan) do a few tasks, and read the prompts in LangFuse. Notice where it gets confused. Read reasoning traces, tool calls, etc. Review the system prompts for irrelevant jank. This is the fundamental analysis that allows you to tweak everything else, add new skills, etc. Don’t tweak your agent in the dark!
