Wilge Village, 336 fancy flats meant for power station workers so they wouldn’t have to commute 50km every day. The original plan, R160–R258 million. What did the crooks do⁉️ They tripled the price with massive overruns, dodgy mark-ups on bricks, furniture, even pool tables, delivered half-built rubbish and not one single family ever moved in‼️ It’s now a rotting ghost town, crumbling walls, broken windows, bush taking over, vandals stripping whatever’s left. Eskom itself admitted it was fruitless and wasteful expenditure, launched “investigations,” terminated the contract years ago and then just walked away like nothing happened‼️ While you’re out there working hard, paying VAT, buying electricity when it actually works and fighting to put food on the table, Eskom’s insiders and their connected contractors were laughing all the way to the bank🔥 Billions more flushed on Kusile rentals because the ghost town was never finished.
