On August 1st, our beloved friend and collaborator Mike Katell passed away suddenly in London. @MikeKatell was the most loving, radiant human being. He always had the courage to stand up for what is right. He changed my life and many of our lives forever.

@IanArawjo I submitted a short paper to CHI last year. The chairs "strongly encouraged" them, but reviewers were less enthusiastic. There were lots of requests for 'more detail'. Mine was luckily accepted (about a 15% rate), but I'm hesitant to try again.

Submitting a short paper to this years' CHI. Really interested to see what the review process is like for short papers, having never done this before. Has anyone here ever reviewed or submitted a short paper? I confess I've never done so, and don't know what to expect.
