I do love me some late night Van. This is an underappreciated gem of an album. Summertime In England is one of his great, transcendent, stream of consciousness sound poems. A truly mighty piece of music. The whole record is bliss, though. Lights out, lie on the floor, soak it in.

Exactly 25 years ago today, I scored my first — and only — professional goal. Contrary to what I believed at the time, goalkeepers are not allowed to handle the ball in both penalty areas. The goal was disallowed and I was sent off — still it earned me legendary status. 😉 #otd
