It was great to be at the Changing Places Opening Event at Trosley Country Park in Kent. The facility worked brilliantly. We couldn't have visited the Park without it. These make such a difference to families such as ours. Does your venue have one yet? If not, let's chat😀

@danfrancis02 Thank you for raising this issue. We agree that wheelchairs are often not fit for purpose in enabling people to do the things they would like to do. It is like assuming that everyday life is accessible in one pair of slippers. We also need to think about the needs of the pusher.

Today in Parliament, I raised the unacceptable delays and lack of choice in wheelchair provision. People are waiting far too long for essential equipment, & many are forced to go private to access a basic wheelchair. #DisabilityRights

Another example of a venue becoming more accessible and recognising that accessibility takes many forms, not only physical disability. On some tours Gallery Educators use sound, movement, touch and smell to bring the stories behind the artworks to life. Thank you 😀#CPTAD2025

Hospitals are examples of where Changing Places can make a difference too. Who would want to visit a hospital knowing that there was nowhere to go to the loo? Thank you to Rob, Sam and all at the PRUH and @KingsCollegeNHS for installing 2 Changing Places facilities 😀#CPTAD2025

In 2024 we have more Changing Places, more understanding of sensory experiences, greater inclusion at venues and events, thought and funding going into accessible playground design and more sporting opportunities for disabled people. Thank you for making this happen. We see you😀

This time of year is great for sensory experiences and @BedgeburyP hit the spot. Not too busy and the music was just right. It felt very calm. Friendly staff on hand, a Changing Places facility and paths in great order. Relaxed sessions too. A lovely festive treat. 😀 🎄
