We’re just an ordinary family living in Rivne. Nastya is a prof chef, but she can’t work now because Sofi needs her full time. I’m Vitaliy — I used to be a vet, now I work as an operator in a factory. Grandma helps when she can, but she lives 1000 km away and visits only a couple times a year. Nastya’s brother helped a lot too, but he moved abroad. We rent a small apartment, love animals, have cat&dog. This is our little world — and Sofi is at the center of it.

Hello!
This is Sophie, my daughter. She’s only 2, and her whole little life she has been fighting a tough diagnosis — genetic generalized epilepsy. Her strength and bright spirit are incredible — our girl is a true fighter.
Every day we attend costly physiotherapy sessions and see doctors to keep her treatment progress moving.
Over the past year, Sophie achieved her own little victory — thanks to constant work, kind people, and rehabilitation, her seizures stopped! It felt like a gift from God.
Without seizures, she’s improving: she wants to walk on her own, says more words, smiles, makes friends. She unclenched her fists, holds her back and head better, and even responds to her name! She especially loves playing with our dog and cat...
But here’s the difficult part — according to doctors, the seizures can return at any moment. We’ve spent a lot on her therapy and special equipment. We cannot stop, or all progress may be lost. That’s why we keep working with her daily.
We also sent Sophie’s blood for genome sequencing in South Korea to learn the cause of her illness. There’s a huge chance that removing a certain brain area could help her recover and develop much faster, and then live like any other happy little girl!
In my country, only one clinic does such surgery, so we are considering Europe or the US. There’s still a long road ahead — it will require enormous strength and significant financial resources.
But we won’t give up. We fight alongside our daughter every day. Her smile gives us the strength and hope we need so much.
I’ll keep this page active, because I believe in humanity and the magic of Twitter.
