✍️ 'Now that the US president has lost all patience with lame duck Keir Starmer, it’s down to Charles to act as Britain’s diplomat-in-chief' I Writes Judith Woods

Labour MPs who want Wes Streeting to be their leader have, apparently, one great fear. If their man triggers a contest, they are terrified it will lead to Ed Miliband entering the race to stop the Health Secretary – and coming out top.
A Miliband premiership would, they worry, be the death of Labour. I’ve got news for them: we are already governed by Ed Miliband. This is now his administration. And they, and the rest of us, had better get used to it.

@neildrewitt @spectator It's well known that Farage has long term health issues, while the drinking is pretend for the cameras, the smoking is real. He'll be 65 at next GE and would be in post till he was 70....a pretty appalling prospect for him and the country

Some fearless – and presumably bored – Guardian journalists have trawled through a remarkable 4,366 clips that the Reform UK leader has made for Cameo since joining the platform in 2021.
Of course, the Guardian being the Guardian, they trawled through all of these innocuous greetings in the hope that at least some of them would be videos celebrating Hitler’s birthday, mourning the German defeat at Stalingrad, or sending Valentine’s Day good wishes to David Irving.
Unfortunately for the journalists, they found no such thing. It has long been my belief that if Nigel Farage were some kind of closeted Hitler-ite, we really would have known about it by now.

@atrupar I’ve been to Portland several times in the past two years and this is all nonsense. Great restaurants, rose gardens and skiing only one hour away on Mount Hood. The world’s biggest bookstore too!

Trump: "Portland, Oregon, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

@Telegraph The US owns this conflict and should act accordingly. Countering Iran’s threats in the Gulf is their job unless they withdraw and negotiate a ceasefire.
