I will never forget Charlie’s beaming face, joyfully greeting us backstage at rallies, celebrating this movement and this country. Just seeing him brought such faith and happiness to everyone around him.
Charlie personified America.
Some of my fondest memories from after the election were working with Charlie in the transition office planning for the new Trump Administration. He was filled with an endless joy and optimism, and an unshakable, iron conviction. He was the rarest combination of talent, character, charisma and unflinching moral resolve.
I am so fortunate to have known and worked alongside Charlie, and to have counted him as a treasured and cherished friend. The time I was gifted with him in this world is a blessing for which I am forever grateful.
Our hearts ache with the deepest sorrow for Erika and their precious little boy and girl. What they have lost, what they have suffered, is a pain far beyond measure. For as long we live, for all the days that have, we will honor Charlie and uplift his family.
And we will turn our anguish into a righteous thunder of action. While Charlie is now in God’s Kingdom, we will complete his life’s noble mission on this earth.

Seattle organizers decided months ago that June 26 would be their LGBT "Pride Night" match during the 2026 World Cup.
Rainbow flags, art installations, community partnerships, the works.
Then the draw happened.
The teams assigned to that match? Egypt and Iran.
Iran follows strict Sharia law.
Homosexuality is punishable by flogging, imprisonment, or death.
In 2021, two gay men were executed for sodomy.
In 2022, a 16-year-old "queer activist" was murdered by security officials.
Authorities raid suspected "gay parties" and force those arrested to name names.
Egypt uses "debauchery" laws to imprison people for same-sex acts for up to three years.
Law enforcement uses dating apps to hunt people down.
Seattle's response? Cool story... full steam ahead.
A spokesperson for the Seattle Pride Match Advisory Committee:
"Soccer has a unique power to unite people across borders, cultures, and beliefs...
This match reflects our ongoing commitment to respect, dignity, and unity for all."
So 69,000 Seattle progressives will wave rainbow flags at fans from countries that execute people for being gay.
Somewhere, a PR team is scrambling to figure out how to spin this.
