@FrostedYukio @p1nkempress_ -directly, which requires knowing the language yourself. There are many instances of translators messing up entire translations, E.G. the Chinese Silksong translation, which was recieved horribly upon launch

@FrostedYukio @p1nkempress_ And he can only verify it is correct if he understands what's being written directly, as he can do with Japanese. The only person who knows if the translation is proper is the person who originally wrote the medium, and that would be Toby himself.

@FrostedYukio @p1nkempress_ Not necessarily, many things like foreshadowing only really work when Toby himself is overseeing it, as some may use wordplay and may be lost on the localizer. There is a book on the Undertale Japanese translation process, and it goes in-depth on many things Toby had to oversee.
