@neptunustorm as a religious conservatives Indonesian who born as a minority in another country and now moved to another country as a minority (again), I agree. and suprisingly, being a minority makes me more religious than when I was in Indonesia.

@neptunustorm my parents lived as indonesian immigrants in countries where they were the minority for 14 years and they're STILL bigoted religious conservatives. it's not guaranteed to work unfortunately 😭

as someone who loves makeup, this is so true. notice gasih kalo pekerja perempuan mulai dr office worker sampe waiter dll mostly diharuskan pake makeup to look "formal". i hate how women with bareface are considered "unprofessional looking"

i think you can absolutely enjoy makeup and the confidence boost it gives u while recognizing beauty standards are a manufactured construct… the most important thing is to be aware that it stems from patriarchy and keep that critical mindset instead of just blindly conforming!!

definitely, i think if we demanded 100% purity to everything, no one could advocate for any change… we all make compromises just to navigate and survive systems we didnt build and that doesnt make your critique of those systems any less valid…
