@SHoltmanns Device id is vendor specific at least on iphone, so its of limited global tracking use. From notifications perspective it can actually be used to keep users anonymous instead. linking device id to device token can avoid account creation for app users.

@curtw @2b_as Very few operators see a need to protect inbound roamers and technically it's more complicated than protecting your own on-net subscribers. One of the biggest issues is probably information sharing between operators.

"Track & intercept any phone in the world" is not as easy anymore as it was five years ago. Many network operators take measures to protect their own subscribers. But they can't protect you once you are roaming in another network, and most networks don't protect inbound roamers.
