1. First of all, this is disrespectful. Peter Obi is older than Reno, therefore Rono has no right to tap on Peter’s shoulder. 2. Renon was looking for something. He wanted Obi to react to that tap, but Obi remained calm throughout this insult.

🚨 UPDATE 🚨 Alledged officers from #Uturu Division have been identified, disarmed & detained. @abiapolice_NG to release an official statement on the viral video. We say #notoimpunity #policeisyourfriend #wearyournametag @TunjiDisu1 @CspIniedu @tony_placid
Buddy Jnr💚🩺💉@BuddyJnrrr

Earlier today at about 2:31pm along Uturu Road near Abia State University (ABSU), I experienced one of the most traumatizing moments of my life. I boarded a mini bus to get an item back to my lodge when some policemen without name tags stopped our vehicle at a checkpoint. They ordered me to step down, which I peacefully did. Immediately, they collected another passenger’s phone and began interrogating him aggressively about what he does for a living. Moments later, one of them turned to me and asked why I was using 3 phones. I calmly explained to them that I am a student and that the phones were bought with my hard-earned money. Instead of listening, they dragged me, my brother, and another passenger into a nearby bush and started harassing us for absolutely no reason. Before we knew what was happening, more officers joined them and they began beating us mercilessly like criminals, even though we were just students who came to ABSU to study and build our future. My brother and I sustained serious injuries during the assault. My ear is currently blocked, I can barely hear properly, and it has been bleeding because of the torture we faced in the hands of these officers...my phone screen also got broken. The most painful part was the constant threats they made. They said they could shoot us and nothing would happen. They also said they could make sure we never graduate from school. Imagine hearing such terrifying words from the same people meant to protect citizens. My only “crime” was owning 3 phones. ABSU students are no longer feeling safe. Police harassment, intimidation, and extortion around Uturu are becoming unbearable. Students are living in fear every day. We came here for education, not to be brutalized and treated like criminals for no reason💔. @PoliceNG @TunjiDisu1 @PoliceNG_CRU @dammiedammie35 @ChuksEricE @HarrisonBbi18 @MaureenChinaka @alexottiofr @winexviv @aleeygiwa @YomiShogunle

WHY THE SENATE? I have spent years calling out the problems. Now I am seeking the platform to implement the solutions. From the outside, I could shout. From the inside, I can legislate. From the outside, I could demand. From the inside, I can enforce. A better Abuja will not build itself. It requires constitutional power

I have a 68-year-old uncle who chose never to get married. Any time his brothers call him to complain about their wives, he usually asks them, “Have I ever called you in the middle of the night saying I can’t sleep? Have I ever come to you with complaints?” They always answer no. Then he replies, “That’s because I’m not married. I don’t have those problems. At 68, I’m fine. If I die today, won’t you still bury me?” They’ve spent years trying to convince him to marry, but he always refused. According to him, some problems are man-made, and he simply chose not to create them.

I want to tell you the bitter truth from the long post that Peter Obi made yesterday and the reason why he is leaving ADC. The truth is that Obi is a coward, a man who does not face challenges head-on. The problem in ADC is too small compared to the problems of the nation he wants to lead. This is a simple testament that he would abandon his responsibilities and then blame the entire country for it. He is a man who was overhyped and, unfortunately for him, is not meeting expectations. Only those with low understanding, those who take a long time to process reality, will keep holding on to what they were told, regardless of how events have changed. Only such people still believe in him. Those who are more discerning have seen him for who he is and have left the sinking ship.

You present personal ambition as service to humanity, and for that reason, you may continue deceiving yourself until the very end. A desperate man will always be making mistakes. How would you wake up after a church service? You lie effortlessly, and there’s no atom of humility in you, it’s all deception.

Peter Obi
Peter Obi@PeterObi·
Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

There has been a deliberate attempt in some quarters to diminish the significance of the recent Supreme Court judgement, framing it as a “pyrrhic victory” or questioning why members of the African Democratic Congress chose to celebrate. This line of argument is not only misleading, it is dangerous. We do not need conspiracy theories to understand the environment in which we operate. It is evident that we are in a fiercely contested political space, one where opposition voices are often tested, pressured, and underestimated. Yes, we are the underdog in this moment. But we are not without experience. Within the ADC are battle-tested leaders and resilient members who have navigated difficult political terrains and who understand, clearly, what victory looks like. Let us be clear: the struggle before us is bigger than any single court decision. The mission is to ensure that the ADC not only contests, but wins the 2027 elections, and that Nigeria does not slide into a one-party state. That mission remains fully intact. But wars are not won in a single moment. They are built through a series of battles. Yesterday was one such battle, and it was won. For a movement that has faced sustained pressure, that victory mattered. It was right to acknowledge it. It was necessary to celebrate it, not as a conclusion, but as a signal, that we are still in the fight, and still standing. Does this mean the war is over? Absolutely not. Yes, we celebrated yesterday. Today, we have returned to the trenches. The work continues, in the courts of law, in the court of public opinion, and in the theatres of politics. And we remain committed, focused, and resolute until the ultimate objective is achieved.

I'm not convinced that this partnership is genuine Is Kwankwaso really working to see that the old man in Aso Rock goes back to Iragbiji?? Did he agree to do VP or will he go and fight PO for the ticket even in any new party? Why do I have this very bad feelings about this whole partnership? I hope I'm wrong though...
