We show that a mobility-tuned synthesis strategy enables selective preparation of different “structomers”, which are isostructural and have identical composition. Since each structomer can be prepared with high selectivity, the effect of arrangements on properties can be tested.

Here is our 1-step synthesis of highly dispersed metal phosphides on a variety of supports from cheap, easy-to-handle precursors. Ni2P/Al2O3 (1-step) can be made and stored without a glovebox and matches the performance of the Pd-based Lindlar catalyst: tinyurl.com/phosphides
