If you graduate from a university then you can become a salaryman where you get taught everything, if you were terrible at studying you can go to a trade school and get a skilled blue collar job, and if you don’t even want to do that you can get a job in a random restaurant or supermarket. All these jobs will pay enough for you to rent a small apartment, and cover basic necessities. Salaries in Japan are low compared to other 1st world nations, but quality of life is unmatched for the average person.
