i don’t believe people who say the characters in evil dead burn weren’t fleshed out enough. if that were true there wouldn’t be so much discourse on the characters. we were given just enough information to not be spoon fed but to understand character motivations and background

@wallsofmyskull i’m back again but honestly i do understand why everyone is so defensive over his character because they might see themselves in him or just empathize deeply with him which i understand. i just think there’s choices he could’ve made differently and he’s not above criticism

@wallsofmyskull who have to fight against abuse and stand up for themselves and each other. no one’s saying he’s not a tragic character but people can still acknowledge his faults. i do empathize with his character the more i think about it but i really don’t hate on anyone for not liking him

you know, i think the more i talk about joseph the less i hate him but i do think people are allowed to hate on characters even if their reason for the way they are is because of some sort of trauma and suffering. as long as you can acknowledge their purpose i think it’s fine
