July 4th is celebrated for the signing of the Declaration of Independence but that's not quite true. The writers Adams, Jefferson and editor Franklin signed it in July but it wasn't until August 2 that it arrived in other colonies for other delegates to sign.

I have to admit it was a lot of fun to Ben Franklin stop by my presentation at Barnes & Noble in Hyannis on Saturday, April 30th and comment upon POOR RICHARD'S WOMEN. After a few "harrumphs" he asked me to sign the book.
